From Like Totally Geek to Like Totally Sheik

Actually more like from totally bad to totally rad!  As some of you know, Adam and I bought our first house and have been working like mad on our new kitchen.  I say "we" have been working like mad, but really it's been Adam, my dad and brother-in-law.  They have been working like mad and I've been watching like crazy.  Here is a little taste of how the process went:

This is before... take it in, it's truly a sight.

Another angle of the kitchen in it's previous glory.

Here's Adam tearing up the linoleum after he tore out the cabinets.
FYI: linoleum from the 70's that the original owners put down with some sort of industrial glue that I am sure is no longer legal in the US sucks to pull up.  I recommend not doing it...ever.

Posing with our new cabinetry from Lowes.  Yay!

After Adam dry-walled and painted and my dad re-framed the window and added new electrical outlets, my new floor is finally getting laid, oww!

And now, drum roll please.....my new kitchen!!!

Isn't she beautiful?

another angle of the beauty that is now my very own kitchen.
sigh. i'm so happy. bigger sigh.

Look What's Inside of Me

So, there is a delightful little bundle of joy growing ever so rapidly inside my belly.  She is a movin' and a shakin' all night and blissfully asleep during the day.  This does not make for a restful night, but it feels pretty cool when she moves her little body around.  I am so looking forward to when she kicks me in the chest and her foot gets caught between my ribs and I have to push it out manually...because apparently that is going to happen...  I need to stop reading baby books....

Here's a sneak peak at her first baby pictures...

Adam is worried that she is going to have his nose...hmmm...

I love the nose...I will also love plastic surgery if she gets her dad's nose...just sayin'

This is her little butt...it looks like she's wearing a diaper...
already an overachiever...

Growing and Growing and Growing and...

So I keep saying that I would put pictures up, and now it's official...here is a glimpse at the last 6 months:

This is at 9 weeks pregnant....

14 weeks, getting bigger...

18 weeks

There is a big gap in time because we moved...this is about 24 weeks

A good side view...and a good view of some hottie running on the beach (what was I watching?)

This is almost 26 weeks (last night, actually). I am getting wonderfully large. Hopefully the boobs will go away because big ol' boobs are not fun for me.

Starting right now I will update more often and keep everyone up to date with pics.
Starting now...

Where Have You Been Guys?

see how sad Fidel and I are that we haven't blogged in a while...heartbreaking, I know.

I am so sorry for the extreme delay in updating my blog, but I am officially back with a VENGEANCE!! Not really a vengeance, but a little more gusto at least. Which is really all anyone can ask for...

So anywho, a lot has happened since July, Adam and I are purchasing a home (hooray!!!!). There will be much more on that later, I don't have pics but you all will be fully informed on the entire decorating process because I am positive that is what you really want to know about.

Let's see, what else is happening, oh, Adam got his CDL! Yeah! For those who don't know what that is, it is a commercial drivers license, so he can drive trucks now. I know it sounds disgusting that I am married to a truck driver, but really, it's pretty hot. He can pull trailers with huge loads....mmmm...sexxxxy....

There are a few other things happening but I can't just blow my load on this first blog post back, so I will leave you with suspense about it.....let's just say that Adam and I are going to be having a new addition to our family in March!!!!

P.S. my Etsy store will be back online soon, I haven't done that either....I'm awesome, I know.

Back from Idaho

Adam, Fidel and I are back from Idaho and we had a killer time! I'll blog more about the festivities of Idaho later, don't you all worry, but for now, here are a few pics from our trip up to great white north.

In case you can't tell, Fidel was really excited to be heading to Idaho.

Fidel and I ridin' throught the gorgeous Nevada desert, he insisted on sitting on my lap so he wouldn't miss a thing, like miles of sage brush and the dirty, stinky antelope....

Still in Nevada....but bathroom breaks are the perfect photo op!

Ahhh....The great water tower of Idaho Falls, Idaho....stunning....

Road Trippin....

Hooray!!! Adam, Fidel and I are heading out on the open road tomorrow morning. We are heading North to Idaho to visit Adam's brother Nate and his wife Amanda. It should be an awesome time and I am soooo excited! I have only been to Idaho once, for a day. It was beautiful and I can't wait to take so many pics! There will lots to blog about when I return.

By the way, we will not be riding to Idaho in the back of a truck,
although it doesn't sound all that bad.

Very Interesting Find...

So, I live in the desert where we don't get a lot of things growing naturally except for the obvious desert vegetation, you know, sage brush, joshua trees, wildflowers. These things are all lovely, however, the other day a strange new thing popped up out side of our house. These weird mushrooms. They are about a foot tall and just arrived, unannounced a few days ago. I don't know why or how they came to be, but of course, I have my own theory...

In the original Invasion of the Body Snatchers, weird spores grew on plants that grew into huge pods that overtook bodies and duplicated them into a passive, mundane people so they could control the human race. It happens very fast and you don't even see it coming....

I don't know where these mushrooms came from, but I'm just saying....be careful out there and if I ever show up without that usual gleam in my eye, then you know what happened:

No Soliciting....

Or Yes Soliciting? We came across this fine young man sitting at a rest stop while we were moving from Oregon. It's probably obvious why this guy is totally rad, but just in case you need help here are the 3 reasons I think he's awesome:

Reason #1: He's a bad ass. He doesn't care that he's not allowed to solicit at this public rest stop. He will boldly take his sign asking for money and sit purposely and aggressively under a NO SOLICITING sign all the while giving a nonverbal "F You" to the Man. Rebellion at its best.

Reason #2: He's got a cat. Homeless guy plus dog is so cliche. Want another way to be awesome? get a cat...and by the looks of things, I bet him and his cat are going to rule the world one day.

And finally,

Reason #3: He caught me taking a picture of him. I was slyly trying to take his pic, without him noticing, but as soon as I clicked my camera and sped away, I looked at the picture and noticed he was looking right at me, unashamed and committed. Just another reason why he might just be the most awesome man holding a cat that I have ever taken a picture of at a rest stop.

Idle Hands.....

So, Adam's brother brought over a new video game and like any true gamer, they HAD to spend a few hours creating a player for Adam. (And yes, it's as dorky as it sounds). They tweaked all sorts of details about him including every single facial detail you could possibly imagine. I personally would have become completely bored and just chose which ever character looked somewhat like me, but no, these two spent so much time and energy on this that I don't even know if they actually played a game. But alas, below is fruit of their labor:

This is the real Adam, looking all sorts of subtle:

And Holy Crap, here is the game version of Adam:

I have to say I was completely impressed with how much it looks like him. So impressed in fact that I had to blog about it. I guess this is what happens when grown men spend hours on minute details...they come up with a completely useless video game version of themselves. If only this much effort was put into, oh I don't know, folding the laundry....
